All these product sketches are from my previous work, they arouse my feelings and passions. It's been hiding inside the folder for the past few years. I discovered it long time ago but did not have the thought of placing them on my blog. Finally they have some breathing space.

Angels & Devils

I have a story to tell about this picture that I drew. It's a mixture of western and Chinese opera.

It began between a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law. MIL traveled widely. Many people who knows her would think of her as an understanding, full of knowledge and easy going person. She had many friends and relatives whom she needs them for moral support. Both lived in harmony under one roof. They cared for each other like mother and daughter. Ocassionally, MIL would gave DIL a hand with the chores.

A few months later, MIL became more and more lazy, she threw her laundry to DIL to wash for her, hide inside her room most of the time making phone calls, telling tales and watching television. She stopped helping out in the kitchen and when the food was ready, she took it and ate in her room. Until one evening, DIL overheard one of her MIL's conversation on the phone talking about her...

My day

Finally, I have sometime for myself now.

It had been a long week in helping and coaching both of my kids to prepare for their exams while I still have to do the cooking, cleaning and washing. It's definitely not an easy task for me to handle both at the same time. That explain how much I love to stay home which I can watch over them and make sure they are safe in hand.

With my determination to help my children to do better in their school exams, to ensure the house is clean and tidy including planning what to cook for the meals, to keep my dogs company by brushing and feeding them twice a day.

Surprisingly, I enjoyed it.

I was pleasantly surprised this afternoon at Sizzler's restaurant, when Daddy said to me that I was a good mother. His comments baffled and amused me; I never expected praise from an arrogant man like him!

He told me that during my pregnancy, my body was so bloated and my nose so swollen that he could hardly recognize me... what would entice a person so conscious with her looks to undergo that transformation not once but twice?

I really hated seeing that "look" when I saw myself in the mirror. Why do other pregnant mums look fabulous but not me?!? Anyway, I have done my duty. I have a girl and a boy. Which make up the Chinese word "Good" 好.

Today, I was very pleased that Daddy said something nice about me. He once told me that getting scolded by him was a blessing, since it showed he cared enough. I do not agree with this "old school of thought". It is always far more morale-boosting to receive words of encouragement.

But one thing I do like about him is that I can talk to him heart to heart, even though we had many bad past experiences. I truly hope that past is over.

We have to look back for lessons but always forward for hope and a better future. I will do my utmost to make sure his stay here for the next few days before he flies off to Indonesia nice and peaceful. And keep my fingers crossed that the kids will play their parts too...

Take a break

I am so busy... buzz... buzzz...

Zipping around the house - cleaning, cooking, washing, ironing, nagging. And then in and out, chauffeuring to and from MRT, school and CCA's. What else can I do besides staying home and tending to everyone's needs?

All too often, I get so frustrated and pushed over the line by the kids not doing their homeworks or their misbehaviour.

It is the start of a busy year for my hubby too. I can see how he's been struggling to learn about a whole new industry while juggling his hectic schedules and heavy work loads.

But it is not fair! I hardly have time for myself! None at all.

How could I possibly have maintained my sanity in all these years as the house slave, waiting for the ever elusive rest and relaxation...

Let's wait and see if there is a miracle.

I am tired! I like to be a nice and clean and neat.

I cannot wait to have a relaxing bath, wash and blow dry my hair, and put on a comfortable yet chic outfit. Nothing too revealing but I was after all a fashion design student and occasional model, so coy and sexy are good.

Then I like to lie down on a couch, kick back and snooze a little. Just like my two precious pooches. Ahhh...
